Our Commitment

Global warming and climate change are gaining traction and affecting our planet at an alarming rate. Yet, the world isn’t doing enough to address these problems. The world is faced with finding new ways to deliver renewable energy on one hand, and protecting the environment on the other. In the face of it, the use of renewable and green energy will be vital for meeting the increasing energy needs of Indonesia’s growing population.

While fulfilling the mandates stated above, it is equally important to lift up the community and environment within the vicinity of our hydropower sites

Community and Collaborations

Since our first inroads to these rural areas 10 years ago, we have always played our part to ensure better livelihoods for the villages around our power plants. We believe that the wellbeing of the community plays an important role in ensuring the success of our projects.

We have provided relocation benefits and basic necessities to residents affected by the initial floods caused by the construction, such as new bridges, houses, and roads. This is also accompanied with MEL’s improvement of cleaner drinking water, providing ambulances, and donations to the needs and welfare of the villagers.

For every power plant, we aim to have 80% of its employees coming from the surrounding villages who would have to go through training which prepares for jobs such as dam construction, operation, and maintenance. We also occasionally organize activities and events to appreciate the hard work and continuous support that they provide.
