Mulya Energi Lestari (MEL) was established in 2014 with a mission to advance Indonesia’s push towards renewable energy. With an ever growing population, there is an increasing need for it such as hydropower, solar, wind, and geothermals. The Indonesian government’s target of having 23% of its energy supply coming from renewable sources by 2030 shows the country’s commitment to this cause. To contribute to that, MEL stands ready to capture the hydropower potential that Indonesia has to offer to produce energy which is clean and reliable for all Indonesians.
We partner with PLN, Indonesia’s largest electricity provider, as well as trusted engineering companies and consultancies to develop and construct hydropower dams which adhere to the international standards that are required for reliable electricity production. To date, we have 1 hydropower dam in operation, 2 under construction, and 3 sites which we have obtained licenses for. The combined estimated potential of these sites amount to 67.9MW, which is the equivalent to powering 38,000 households.

Whilst we aim to continuously develop hydropower dams, we ensure that the local community benefits through job creation and social welfare. On the environmental side, we work with consultants to minimize the environmental impact caused by our dams’ civil work.
